These beautiful earrings feature hand cut stones that I cut in January of 2011. The Amazonite stones are wire wrapped in sterling silver and suspended from a sterling silver fish hook.
The Stone:
Amazonite is a green to blue green variety of the microcline feldspar group. Although it is not found near the river, the stone is named for the Amazon river body.
It is a birthstone for the Month of December. It is said to be a soothing stone that offer confidence. I can certainly understand the soothing quality of this stone looking at it relaxing blue-green color.

Turritella Agate is a fossil agate featuring snail or gastropod shells. This wonderful material has a dark chocolate to black background which allows the fossilized shells to pop in the cabochon.
Turritella Agates have been found in ancient seabed locations, this one was found in Wyoming.
This Turritella agate is wrapped in sterling silver and suspended on an 18 inch sterling silver chain.
This stone was hand cut by me in November of 2010. The pendant measure 4.0 cm (1.57 inches) long. The actual stone is approximately 3.0 cm (1.2 inches) long by 1.96 cm (0.77 inches) wide.
This necklace would make a wonderful gift for any fossil collector or rock lover in your circle. |
